Since you’ve previously participated or signed up for updates, we wanted to make sure you knew that registration for the Silver Lake shoreline horseback riding season opens next week.Registration officially opens 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at MiDNRReservations.com.The season runs Nov. 1-30 (excluding Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26).The fee is $10 per horse per day, with 125 daily spots.A predetermined riding route is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and takes riders through the dunes to the Lake Michigan shoreline.Riders can use the equestrian staging area at the Silver Lake ORV Area, 8960 W. Fox Road in Mears, to unload and prepare their horses. The staging area is open to vehicles from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.Register to ride ►To make a reservation, click on the “Equestrian” tab at the top of the reservation site, then select the “Silver Lake Equestrian Staging Area” radio button, and then select your date. |
